Alaska Neurodiagnostics Specialists was founded in 2022 by Karra Paulsen and Kathy Kurkowski, two registered EEG technologists with a shared vision: to bring expert neurodiagnostic care directly to Alaska's communities.
Inspired by Karra's grandfather, who encouraged her to "help people in villages access medical care without leaving their homes," we understand the unique challenges Alaskans face in accessing specialized healthcare.
We've witnessed families forced to choose between essential subsistence living and traveling hundreds of miles for EEG testing. We've also witnessed unfortunate outcomes for patients who don't have access to emergent EEG services for proper medical treatment in critical and dire events. That's why we're committed to bringing services to where people are—whether that's in their homes, local clinics, or partner hospitals across the state.

Karra Paulsen and Kathy Kurkowski are partners with over 50 combined years of EEG experience in Alaska. Both are registered EEG technologists committed to excellence and community service.
